Substantial Curriculum Modifications
Significant updates to majors, minors, and certificates that constitute greater than 25% change to the existing curriculum (total program units) or necessitate a change to the number of units required to complete the degree (over 120).
Adding a Subplan/Emphasis
Creating a specialized subset of curricular requirements within a major; may not exceed 40% difference in common requirements.
Adding or Removing a Campus
Making changes to the campus where a plan is offered, including Online and Distance.
Renaming a Plan

Removing a major, minor, certificate or sub-plan from the active programs offered at the University of Arizona.
Changing a CIP Code
Requesting to change a program’s 6-digit Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code which supports accurate reporting through the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System).
Changing Academic Plan Ownership
Making changes to the home department or responsible unit for a major, minor, or certificate.
Combining Existing Programs
Creating an Accelerated Master’s Program (AMPs) or Graduate Dual Degrees. AMPs are accelerated pathways from an undergraduate program to a related graduate degree; a Dual Degree is a formal program that awards two existing graduate degrees.
