An advisory board compiled of students from a variety of campus populations, with oversight from an advisor, is a key element in determining student fee allocations. Requests for new Mandatory Fees or changes to the amount of existing Mandatory Fees are submitted through senior leadership, generally the Provost or CFO. The requests are reviewed and evaluated by senior leadership keeping in mind the overall cost of student attendance. Supported requests are vetted with student leaders and student groups for feedback and subsequently submitted to the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) for approval. ABOR approved Mandatory Fees are implemented through the Office of Budget and Planning in coordination with the Bursar’s Office and the cost of attendance data on the UArizona website is updated.
