Graduate Proposal Approval Table

Proposals for creating new graduate plans (majors, minors, sub-plans, and certificates) and modifying and/or disestablishing graduate plans go through several committees for review and approval. Use the table below to determine the form(s) needed for the proposal, learn about the approval routing, and view the proposal due dates.

  • ABOR=Arizona Board of Regents*
  • CAAC=College Academic Administrators Council
  • FS=Faculty Senate
  • GC=Graduate Council
  • GPERC= Graduate Programs Executive Review Committee
  • PC=Provost's Council

*Proposals are sent to ABOR after receiving CAAC approval. ABOR's Academic Affairs and Educational Attainment Committee reviews/votes on the proposals before forwarding to full ABOR. ABOR approval is the only external approval required. Proposals must receive approval from all UA internal committees and ABOR before implementation, marketing, admitting students, etc.
